Now, every girl has owned at least one Barbie Doll.. I've owned hundreds and I wish I can say I took care of them but I didn't! I'd chop one's hair off to give her a new look, and what a new look that was!
I remember when I was around 6 years old, a documentary about Barbie's history was on and my mom called me to check it out! They had the first Barbie ever made on and I remember asking my mom why does she look so different and she explained that the first Barbie ever made looked different and gradually evolved to what I had now! I was head over heels in love with that Barbie and didn't fancy the looks of the Barbies I had! That Barbie looked sexier and had that aloof look, the newer version is now know as the Silkstone Barbie which was introduced in 2000.
Quick introduction about the Silkstone Barbie:

"Silkstone Barbie Dolls, also known as Fashion Model Barbie dolls and Lingerie Model Barbie
dolls, are the Barbie dolls that have really captured collectors' interests in the 21st century.
The dolls were the first collectible Barbie dolls to truly evoke the vintage Barbie dolls of the
early 1960s in style, makeup, hair and clothing. The dolls have a devoted following, and some
even are still released wearing lingerie in spite of a Moral Majority controversy over their attire
several years ago." ref: http://www.marcdolls.ch/engsilkstone.html
